Tell us about yourself! Hi! I’m Amanda Schuler. I’m a Toronto based entrepreneur, with a love for design, textiles, and wellness. Whenever I travel, I am seeking good food and wine, a place to workout and a few hidden gems to discover. What inspires you to uncover more? I find that by walking around a city, I am more apt to learn something new, so I try to walk whenever possible. I am inspired to uncover more because I find this mindset keeps me alive, keeps me fresh, and keeps me happy. Where is your go-to spot when in NYC? I always visit C.O Bigelow. They are the oldest apothecary in New York City, and were around before the Civil War. (I dream of going back in time and eating at their lunch counter which is no longer there). I love them not only because they carry Ember Wellness, but they have an amazing line of OG C.O Bigelow products with incredible, old school packaging. The salves are the best. I purchase them in multiples as gifts. Is there a secret, local-only spot you can share? The town of Muskoka, Ontario is Canada’s version of the Hamptons but a lot more rugged. We have a small cottage on an island there and it is where I go in the summer to work, but more importantly, to wind down and spend time with family and friends, eating and drinking well, playing tennis and enjoying the sunsets. Where is your bucket-list destination? What makes you excited about visiting? The Maison de verre by architect Pierre Chareau is top of my bucket list. It was completed in 1931 and it is a house in Paris with the facade made entirely of glass block. Back in 2013, my husband and I and the family tried to make a reservation to see it but it didn’t work out - there is an 8 month waiting list! But this is definitely going to happen one day. I need to see this building in person!
