  • Saint James Iced Tea x White Lotus Concierge Deck Pop-up (2/18 - 2/19): Saint James Iced Tea will unveil its β€˜White Lotus Limited Edition Mango Organic Black Tea’ through a pop-up event at Grand Central Station in Vanderbilt Hall, happening from February 18-19. More here.

  • Em x Cosme (2/20): Em, a fine dining restaurant in Mexico City that blends Mexican cuisine with Japanese influences under the expertise of chef Luis "Lucho" MartΓ­nez, is popping up at Cosme on 2/20 for a one-night only five course dinner collaboration. Reserve here.

  • l’abeille x Maison Ruggieri (2/21 + 2/22):  l’abeille, the French Japanese fine dining restaurant in Tribeca, is continuing its Chef in Residence series with a "Paris in New York" collaboration. On February 21st and 22nd, Executive Chef Mitsunobu Nagae will welcome Chef Martino Ruggieri of the two Michelin-starred Maison Ruggieri in Paris. The two chefs will blend Parisian and Japanese techniques in a $345, nine-course tasting menu featuring seasonal dishes like Winter Vegetable Terrine with Smoked Ikura and Kombu and American Wagyu Beef Ribeye with Soy Bone Marrow. Originally from Valdres, Norway, Lasse A. Vangstein was born into the travel industry. He now holds the role as Chief Communications & Sustainability Officer for Havila Voyages, a Norwegian cruise company operating the historic coastal route from Bergen to Kirkenes, introducing four brand new ships. Lasse has over 20 years of communications experience from travel, trade and the transport industry.

Tell us about yourself!

When I have time, I love to head for the Norwegian mountains – in both the summer and winter. Our family skis – a lot. Even in the summer on glaciers. That’s the perk of having a kid that decided alpine ski racing was his go-to sport, I guess. You will maybe also find me on the sideline of a local soccer field, as the youngest likes to kick the ball around and score goals for his team.

During the short Norwegian summer months, I am most likely found near a lake or a river with my fly-fishing rod in hand chasing the next rising trout. The calm of nature and water helps me relax and wind down.

I also need to see the world, and experience new places, culture and food. I love to travel, near and far. There are so many places to discover, and I can’t wait for my next adventure.

What inspires you to uncover more?

People inspire me. Their experiences and their stories.

Where is your go-to spot when in NYC?

Central Park – I just love the green lung of the mega-city.

Is there a secret, local-only spot you can share?

Don’t miss VardΓΈ, a small coastal city in the Arctic with contemporary street art. Have a look-out for Don Corleone (Marlon Brando).

Where is your bucket-list destination? What makes you excited about visiting?

Right now, the Maldives are high on my bucket list. The crystal-clear waters, sun and water-sport activities just speak to me.
